This
information is designed to help you better understand the
time, financial, and travel commitments involved when becoming
a member of our competition dance team.
These
teams were designed for the more serious and dedicated dance.
Teams are formed using many different criteria including age,
ability, size, and prior experience. You will be competing
throughout the Memphis area representing NVS Dance.
It is an exciting and positive experience for all. Careful
consideration is given to the venues in which we choose to
perform so that the experience remains of a high quality.
This experience allows the dancer the opportunity of belonging
to a team that works together to accomplish a common goal.
As in anything, proper perspective is always required.
The main goal is to learn and have fun. |

| TEAM
PLACEMENT |
| Placement
is entirely up to the staff only. Parents and
dancers should respect and trust our decisions in placing
the student. Each instructor has a vision of what we
would like our teams to be and are also looking out
for the best interest of the dancer. It is in
the Dancers best interest to be placed on a team that
is leraning and performing at their general level. This
best enables the student to learn at their pace and
re-enforce any and all basics and technique that will
be required at later levels. We have been doing this
for a very long time so trust us to know what is the
best! |
| TEAM
REQUIREMENTS |
Team
members are required to take a certain number of technique
classes to support their choreography classes. Just
registering for a required class does not fulfill the
obligation. Consistent attendance is expected
and will be monitored. Making the commitment to belong
to one of our teams means that the dancer and their
parents are with us 100%. This commitment helps
provide the true team spirit we are seeking to achieve.
All
team members and their parents are expected to represent
NVS DANCE at all events in a positive manner that
portrays good sportsmanship and a true team spirit.
Team members are expected to show respect for ALL
Competitors. Teachers, Parents, Directors, and Judges
at all times. |
